Igor Tudor was delighted with his side’s 2-1 win over Juventus

Verona boss Igor Tudor was delighted with his side’s 2-1 win over Juventus in Serie A football on Saturday.

Giovanni Simeone scored two goals in the 11th and 14th minutes to give the hosts a 2-0 lead before Weston McKenney smashed the eggs for “Juvestus” in the final 10 minutes. The team has become a difficult task for visitors with wins against strong teams including Roma, Lazio and, most recently, Juventus.

Tudor, who was both a former lad and assistant to Andrea Pirlo last season, was asked by reporters how he felt about winning against his former club Juventus. He immediately replied: “It’s not my Juventus, it’s my Verona! I had a great year there. But this is a fight now and we always try to win,” Tudor told DAZN.

“It was a worthy victory. The boys gave their all and after leading 2-0 I felt we went harder to score more goals. We started low in the second half, Juve sped up the pace and created some dangers. but play the defense game to keep 3 points fully”

“I said in the previous game that my mentality changed after going 2-0 up and I didn’t like that. I’ve seen it happen too many times. You cannot stop trying to score goals. But on this occasion, Juve put us back in the second half.

“Playing the game We improved compared to the previous game. We are doubling down on our efforts. Everyone fights with every ball and it really pleases me.”
