Manchester City are hopeful of signing Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes, but will not pay the €50m he demands.

Sporting Lisbon’s 19-year-old left-back. Mendes has been a target for Premier League champions Manchester City. who saw the prospect of pulling himself to conjure up for the future of the team.

According to market specialist Fabricio Romano. Manchester City made an offer of €30m for Mendes. But Sporting rejected it. The club’s board of directors, however, has no plans to pay that high for the 19-year-old.

Mendes stepped up to Sporting’s first team in the 2019-20 season before becoming one of the core of the squad last season, playing 35 games in all competitions. Plus, he made five senior appearances for Portugal in 2021 and was named in the squad for Euro 2020, but didn’t play a minute.
